I`m in my favourite place

I`m in my favourite place, my back against the boulder, sitting on the wooden bench of Ard na nOilean. It`s beautiful here, extraordinarily peaceful and picturesque. The house and grounds are everything promised and more. The well-appointed kitchen, great water pressure, spacious rooms, lovely art and magnificent fireplace contributed to an unforgetable vacation.

Sitting at the table enjoying the breathtaking views is wonderful

This house offers a great setting for getting away from it all. It is set in rural surroundings and yet close to all amenities. From the first minute you have this cosy feeling.. sitting at the table enjoying the breathtaking views is wonderful. The stunning fireplace is a guarantee for romantic and relaxing evenings and makes the entire living room an experience in its own. I can highly recommend this place, after having visited it for the second time! I will definitely come back if I have the chance. The house and the Donegal area are worth visiting!

Great people, fantastic beaches and a fantastic home base

Dia ghuit; From the moment we arrived we were home. Brid has become family and helped us settle in from moment one. She is a dear. Nothing to out of the question. Joch was a little dear and we enjoyed him tagging along on outings to the beaches near by. The home here is lovely and very comfortable and spacious. We were four adults and we had plenty of room to spread out and with the three baths never had to wait to clean up or anything else. We BBQed outside at the new grill and enjoyed the view of the strand and the area of Annagry. We would most assuradly use this home again and we do want to remain in contact with this area for it is special and the land of Enya’s family and Leo’s pub. Great people, fantastic beaches and a fantastic home base to use for touring County Donegal and so much more. Thank you to the Gallaghers for this wonderful home to call our own. Enjoy for all who stay here. Cead Mile Failte “100 Thousand Welcomes”. Sla’n – denn and ken

Very tastefully decorated

This is an excellent place to spend some Winter weekends. A lovely fireplace, and very tastefully decorated and well-equipped property with beautiful unobstructed views out to sea. The village is also full of very friendly people, not to mention the housekeeper who was brilliant and on the end of the telephone if we needed any help.

Sat looking out at the stunning views with a glass of red wine

Had a fantastic time – weather good and the house gorgeous. The nearby beaches were stunning with white sand and clear blue seas. We had a nice time walking and also riding the horses at Dunfanaghy – well worth a visit and not too far. Glenveigh park is great for a day out with beautiful walks next to the lakes and the Castle. Made BBQs most evenings – sat looking out at the stunning views with a glass of red wine – what could be finer! Can’t wait to come back again.

Lovely tranquil location

The property was ideally located for us to explore Annagry and the surrounding area. The house was well-equipped, and Jim was always available to answer any queries. The views over the bay were stunning, especially at sunset. The main purpose of our visit was for my wife and her sister to rediscover their roots, their grandparents lived in and around Annagry. We also enjoyed the hospitality of Michael in Starkey’s Bar and the food and music in Leo’s Tavern and the wonderful food at Danny Minnie’s.

Would highly recommend this property

Overall we had a great time in this property which suited our needs exactly. Proximity to the bay which is extremely shallow was ideal for paddle boarding especially for young kids – barely more than knee deep at high tide. We travelled a good deal in the general Three Parishes area, visited beautiful Glenveagh, walked many of the immaculate beaches in the area and tasted the exquisite cuisine offered by many of the local restaurants – Danny Minnie’s in Annagry was really good and The Old Glen Bar in Glen is an experience not to be missed. Would highly recommend this property.

The house was really well equipped

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the break. It was great to be able to bring our dog and have the secure garden for him. The house was really well equipped, plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. We used the BBQ both nights and lite the fire pit. Would recommend the house and Jim and Catherine were great hosts.

The house was a great base for our exploration of Donegal

Canadian sisters vacation
A lovely, clean, private accommodation with more than enough room for four adults. The house was a great base for our exploration of Donegal. The path to the beach wasn’t quite as obvious as we had anticipated but the sunsets were lovely!!

We had a fabulous week

We had a fabulous week. Lots of sunshine and blue skies, some cycling, some walking mostly on the beaches, lots of rock pooling, some fishing, two of us climbed Mount Errigal and three of us went riding with Dunfanaghy stables (can recommend: lovely quiet horses gave us a wonderful ride down the beach, in the sea and back through the sand dunes). The house is fantastic – always warm, comfortable and welcoming. We love the fireplace and spectacular view. Would have been happy to have spent a day in the house in bad weather but we didn’t have any ! Barbeques here and on the beach. Feel very lucky to have found this place – hope to come back! Many thanks to Jim and Christa for sharing this wonderful place.

We had a very nice stay

We had a very nice stay. The weather was quite rough, so we were grateful for the commodity and peacefulness of the place. The house is situated in a beautiful landscape: The view is great. To be more detailed: We found the place easily with the provided route description. The recommendations of your homepage were very helpful. The house was absolutely clean and well-maintained. We definitely recommend this place to anyone, who is looking for a nice and quite base for trips throughout beautiful Donegal.

The afternoon hours, while the tide is out, afford you the opportunity to explore this unspoiled area and observe at close quarters the numerous seabirds. It is also home to a wide variety of shellfish and includes mussel and commercial oyster beds. The evening brings the tide and with it the chance to swim in calm waters. Depending on the tides and season, the water depth varies between one and two meters.
