Although it is just on the outskirts of the town, (town centre less than 5 mins walk) you will feel like you are in the countryside as you enjoy the mountain views from the house. The cottage is finished to a very high standard throughout.
It has beautiful cream sash windows and all the rooms have their own distinct style. With 3 bedrooms it accommodates 6 people comfortably.
Magical time with such friendly people
Unfortunately we never got to meet Sonia as we arrived late. But if we return hopefully we will, to thank her for the lovely apple pie. We did not have brilliant weather but that did not stop us have a magical time with such friendly people, and such a wonderful house very loved and very cosy with lots of room everything we need was there and fantastic views from the windows. We would recommend Drumbarron to anyone who is looking for somewhere in Ardara and the village has lots to do
Such a darling space, so comfortable
Three of us enjoyed a few days at Drumbarron cottage. We really enjoyed our time and appreciated the nice touches. Such a darling space, so comfortable, and so convenient in location to nearby Ardara. You can be sure we will stay here on our next visit. Thank you so much to Sonia for making our visit so nice.
Had a wonderful week in Sonia’s stylish home
Had a wonderful week in Sonia’s stylish home. Lovely touches like apple pie in her beautiful kitchen on arrival. A comfortable home, just like a show home! Would recommend it to anyone looking for a base to explore beautiful Donegal.
A stunning cottage, beautifully decorated
Drumbarron Cottage is a fantastic base to explore this beautiful part of Donegal and enjoy the amenities of Ardara. A stunning cottage, beautifully decorated with authentic period features but with all mod cons. Sonia couldn’t have been more helpful and responded very quickly to all requests. We would highly recommend Drumbarron and be sure to have a Guinness in Nancy’s pub while you’re there!
It’s yours as soon as you walk in the door
Never done the holiday house rental before and if they are all to this standard it won’t be the last.
As other reviewers have said it never feels like someone else’s home, it’s yours as soon as you walk in the door. It had everything you need for a self-catering stay.
Cooker with ample pots, pans, plates & cutlery. Dishwasher, washing machine, towels ect.
Rooms are big and really well decorated, master bed en suite with 2 other big bathrooms, tons of room for the 6 that was in our party.
The location is one of its main pluses, stunning views of the hills and less than a 5 minute walk from the busy town of Ardara with its bars and shops. Try Nancys and the corner house for music and food.
I have been to this area many times but on this trip we had a first timer with us and it gave us the opportunity to re explore some of the sights South West Donegal has to offer.
Some of the highlights were Glencolmcille with its folk village, well worth a visit. Nairn beach one of the finest beaches you will find anywhere, Slive League is a must if you get a good day absolutely breath-taking views, we got a perfect day and could see as far as Mayo, and because you can now drive right to the very top it’s there for everyone to see. Glengesh pass is also not to be missed, world class scenery and on your doorstep. Thanks to Sonia for all the help and looking after us, really can’t recommend this house and area enough
Cosy and homely atmosphere
Stayed here recently on a girly night away and had a wonderful warm welcome at Drumbarron Cottage. Cosy and homely atmosphere in this beautifully restored cottage within a 2 minute walk of Ardara Town. Would recommend this cottage to a family or friends getaway and Ardara has lovely friendly pubs with a warm welcome also. Fully recommend this Cottage to anyone staying in or around Ardara. Cottage itself was immaculately presented. 5 Stars..
