Loved our stay at Joe’s house, the views all around the local area and Ballyhiernan beach. Proper escape from city life.

Great location with great views if you want to get as away for a few days in a very rural location, highly recommend it.

A cosy and clean cottage with. Beautiful views. The beaches nearby are some of the best we have ever been to. We had kids ranging from a 6-month-old to an 11-year-old and they all had a brilliant time (once the 11-year-old got over the lack of internet and phone coverage). So many amazing sights close by to explore. We had a wonderful holiday – thank you to Joe and Susanne, we hope to return soon.

Great cottage, very spacious for families. Super location near Fanad Head. Spectacular views of the Atlantic from Tory island all the way to Malin Head. Well looked after build and Susanne. Highly recommend that getaway break in Fanad/North Donegal for the family in your fabulous cottage. We had a great holiday exploring all that Fanad/Donegal has to offer. Thank you and Susanne very much. We will certainly, stay again. Already looking forward to it.

Our second stay in John Owens and we are delighted we made the visit A beautiful part of Ireland and hosts couldn’t be more accommodating.

The area is stunning, with beautiful drives and the house is in a lovely setting. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. Susanne greeted us and was very welcoming. Fanad is very picturesque and unique, I would return. Susanne was great and we felt very at home. The Fanad peninsula is stunning, really enjoyed the scenery.

We had a lovely weekend in Joe’s cottage in beautiful Fanad. It is a lovely house that is very fresh, warm and clean. The views outside are sensational with a lovely garden to sit outside and enjoy the waves in the distance. Susanne was a pleasure to deal with. We loved our time here and we would highly recommend a visit.

Thanks, Joe and Susanne for providing a real!y restful and peaceful accommodation for my week in Fanad. Post-bereavement it was exactly what I needed. The solitude and beauty have been very helpful. My brother loved Fanad deeply and it was comfortable to be there. As always, the cottage doesn’t disappoint and I enjoyed the quirky mixture of summer and autumnal gales from the comfortable clean and cosy spot you provide. Looking forward to coming again.

Perfectly situated and wonderfully cosy. We really enjoyed our break at this cottage. So glad we chose this property. Lovely walks in all. directions and some great coffee shops just a short drive away. Just what we were looking for. We were looking forward to staying somewhere quiet and beautifully situated and we were not disappointed. Susanne was helpful too, please pass on our thanks. Beautiful house near the ocean! We had a great stay in Joe’s house. The house was spotless and comfortable. Great views and also lovely and peaceful. Susanne was very helpful during our stay. I would definitely recommend John Owen’s if you want to switch off and relax.

This is a beautiful cottage with everything you need. It is modern but still with the feel of a cottage. It was so cosy which was great for a January weekend. The house was very clean and Susanne the caretaker was very helpful. The area is stunning and the people are the friendliest we have met. The local bar, The Lighthouse Tavern, is just a ten-minute walk away. The food and the coffee there is amazing.
