Lakeview Lodge

Pettigo: 2 bed/sleep 4

This is an old stone dwelling, originally built as a gamekeeper’s hunting lodge. It was built in the early 1800s by Lord Leslie, a landlord in the area at the time. (His main local residence, in Pettigo village; was called Palaceades.) The Leslie family holdings in the 19th century comprised 70,000 acres in counties Cavan, Donegal, Fermanagh, Meath & Tyrone!

The cottage is situated on a large property, in a quiet and peaceful location some 6km from Pettigo off the (R232) main road to Donegal Town. A fishing lake called Lough Namnamurrive lies about 400m south of the cottage. (see bottom picture)The cottage itself, is a solid, stone-built building, and has undergone extensive renovation. There are two upstairs bedrooms, a kitchen, sitting room, and utility room: Ablutions consist of two upstairs en-suites and a downstairs toilet and basin.
