Donegal Town is very popular during the summer months, and it is a gateway to the southern part of County Donegal. There are many fine, sandy beaches in the area boasting some of the best surfing conditions in Western Europe. Donegal is also used as a base for hill-walking in the nearby Bluestack Mountains.

The views are unbelievably beautiful

Thank you Google for finding us this house. It’s absolutely perfect – everything is here that we could possibly need. The views are unbelievably beautiful of the sea and the mountains – we would love to take them back to Manchester with us! The house is so clean and well maintained – it’s ideal for us as a family – however would be great for a couple/family who are perhaps bringing their elderly family members, as the ensuite bathroom on the ground floor would be perfect! Or another ideal would be for a couple of families – as there is so much space (and various beds!) – you certainly wouldn’t feel like you’re crammed in! It’s huge! it’s not the last time we will be here. We will be back!

Lismore Cottage was a fantastic place to stay in winter

Lismore Cottage was a fantastic place to stay in winter – it was cosy and warm even though the temps were -15c outside. We had the sun all day into the family rooms and it was lovely sitting looking over the bay and enjoying the view and the warmth! We’ll definitely be staying again.

The cottage is very well equipped

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lismore cottage. The cottage is very well equipped, the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook your own meals. The rooms are up to modern standards and have an indívidual touch. The location is ideal, especially when you want to tour the area around Donegal Town and Slieve League. Even though the weather was changeable, we had a wonderful holiday.

Your cottage was meticulously tidy

We had a most wonderful stay at Lismore Cottage and loved Donegal and Donegal Town so much. Your cottage was meticulously tidy and the kitchen was wonderful with every appliance and gadget we could have wanted or needed. So nice when you are away from home. Also loved the wonderful views around the cottage pertaining to Donegal Bay both up and downstairs — the weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. Sun and mild temps. We found the Tourist Visitors’ Center very friendly and helpful and they referred us to James McGroary, Taxi driver who took us up the coast to Killybegs, Kilcar, Ardara, etc. He was exceptional and took us on some less travelled roads along the coast that were breathtaking and fulfilled our every wish. Highly recommend his service and safe driving technique. Ate at the Blueberry Cafe, very good, The Harbor Restaurant, excellent, Smugglers Creek Inn, good, but a little disappointed in the food, view was awesome, The Castle Bar, very good, The Castle was very interesting — we enjoyed. Missed out on the Bay Boat tour as we didn’t realize it only operated on certain days in off season and we waited too long. Loved the friendly people and shopping in Donegal Town. All in all, you certainly rated an A+ for a wonderful Holiday Rental in Ireland and you were fabulous to work with during the course of planning our trip. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. Hope to return!

It was a complete home from home

My friends and I rented Lismore Cottage for a weekend recently and we were delighted with the cottage. It was a complete home from home, clean, modern, extremely welcoming and equipped with everything you could possibly need, especially for those with children. Richard was lovely to deal with and we hope to be back soon.

Staying at the cottage made it even better

We had a great time, and staying at the cottage made it even better, great location looking over donegal bay, all the facilities of a modern home, just a few minutes into donegal town, to the shops, restaurants and bars. We didn’t want to leave but i daresay we’ll be back.

A beautiful, spacious cottage with fantastic views of the Bay

A short review of our trip to Donegal. We arrived in Donegal on the 5th of November and felt welcome in Lismore Cottage. A beautiful, spacious cottage with fantastic views of the Bay. And with all the equipment you need. Great beds also. And only 15 minutes walk to the town centre. In Donegal, we had a superb dinner at the Italian restaurant La Bella Donna twice! The Harbour restaurant was also ok. We went to Slieve League. Majestic cliffs (the best of Ireland) and a great walk!! We visited The beach at Rossnowlagh and the award winning Pub Smugglers Creek on the cliffs overlooking the coast. Great! We also drove to The Rosses, amazing sea views. And everywhere we came in county Donegal, we smelt peat. Ireland on its best. And of course: we had some pints of Guinness, a few whisky’s and a lot of fun in the pubs. With music of the Pogues and Goats don’t shave J. A great trip!

It had everything we were looking for

Fantastic! Very child friendly! Kids loved it and so did we. We could not fault Lismore Cottage one bit. It had everything we were looking for, very clean and extremely comfortable with great views. Both families really enjoyed our stay in Donegal and when we travel to Ireland again with no hesitation would stay in Lismore Cottage. The kids loved their room and the toys were brilliant and kept them amused! The cot and high chair were great too as not many places had these. Donegal Town was lovely, great restaurants and great base for exploring Donegal. We moved on to another part of Ireland for the 2nd week of our holiday and wished we had stayed at Lismore Cottage!!! Thank you!
