If you are in the mood for some local tradition and award winning food, Rose cottage is located near two lively country towns Ardara (5km) and Glenties (1km)

The town of Glenties itself has won Ireland’s Tidiest Town award on no less than 5 occasions. This, together with an abundance of amenities for both active and passive pursuits, makes the town a popular destination for tourists to the North West of Ireland.
The area surrounding Rose Cottage is filled with beaches including Maghera beach which is filled with caves and has horse riding available and Narin beach which boasts the Narin and Portnoo golf course said to be the finest natural and scenic 18-hole course in Ireland. The Sandfield pitch and put is also nearby.
