A five minute walk takes you to the centre of the village for the morning paper and a lovely coffee and tray bake at Cul a Ti. Or get your steps in before breakfast, walking out to the beach along the river estuary and looping back along the footpath into the village, a beautiful 2 mile walk in all. If you’re an early bird you’ll catch the sun rising over the beach. Spectacular! Or head to Bunagee Pier and see the days catch being landed.

Or catch Amazing Grace set sail on her daily dolphin watching excursions. Culdaff is charming. Make sure to pop into the local pubs for a bit of craic. McGuinness’ Bar and The Culdaff Arms offer live music throughout summer. McGrorys, established in 1924, is a family run pub/restaurant, serving great food, and hosts traditional Irish music sessions a couple of times a week in summer, or catch a live band in the Backroom. Look out for Jenny’s Pop Up bakery during summer, the cupcakes are ‘yummy’!

Wonderful Stay with Welcoming Hosts

We had a wonderful stay! Sharon and Glenn were extremely welcoming and always quick to reply, which made everything so easy. The house itself was spacious, beautifully kept, and had everything we could possibly need. It really felt like a home away from home. We especially appreciated the little touches that made our stay extra comfortable. Would happily return and highly recommend!

Really comfortable and spacious holiday home

We (six friends) stayed at Bunagee Cottage during August 2025 as we took part in the local Quadrathon running festival. All the rooms were very spacious with two bathrooms and downstairs WC. The kitchen had everything we needed, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, toaster, microwave etc with a large kitchen table so plenty of space for us to cook and eat together. There were 2 fridges so plenty of space to store food & celebratory drinks! A lovely well kept garden to relax in with a large garden table and chairs. Culdaff was a great location to explore the Innishowen peninsula and the house was easy walking distance to the centre shops and McGrorys bar. The beach was only 1.3km walk away (15 min walk) so perfect location and there was a handy washing line and drying rack for our beach towels etc.
I would 100% recommend this house, it is large, spacious, comfortable and well furnished with all details thought of. Beautifully decorated with nice paintings, lights, plenty of games, books, CDs and a radio etc. It was a very comfortable and well presented house and great communication with the owner both leading up to, during and after our holiday.
We had a lovely welcome pack too thank you so much!

Super little village!

We had a lovely family holiday making our base in the super little village of Culdaff. The house had all we required, it was comfortable & roomy for our multi generational group. We had loads of towels, the beds & bedding were of high quality ensuring a good night’s sleep. The house is thoughtfully stocked making it a home from home. The nearby beach was a treat & McGuinness’ pub is to be recommended. We had a super time making fabulous memories at Bunagee Cottage.

Happy Memories

A lovely house, wonderfully decorated internally and very spacious rooms. We stayed here with friends – a mix of adults and children. Everyone had the best time – the children loved playing in the garden and the parents all had a good nights sleep on comfortable beds. The host was very quick to reply to any messages and provided lots of information about the local area and things to see and do. There are activities for all ages and abilities nearby but the beaches which are very close by are all you need for a great day out.

Wonderful Cottage

The house is in a lovely quiet estate and is only a few minutes walk to the shop and pubs. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming from a lovely welcome basket to providing everything we needed for our stay. It’s a great house if you have kids. Lovely enclosed garden and they provide travel cots, baby monitor and stair gates. The walk to the beach is lovely and there is plenty to do in the surrounding areas as well. We will definitely be back again.

Perfect location

I chose this house due to its location to Culdaff village and that it had a downstairs bedroom for my parents. The house was very clean, spacious snd cosy and with enough seats to sit us all at the kitchen table. The back garden was enclosed making it perfect for the children to play in. If you don’t know the area Sharon had left details of various activities in the area. Definitely would book again.

Perfect holiday

My family and I have just returned home after a great holiday. Bunagee Cottage is situated in Culdaff, which is a peaceful and beautiful location. The views from the back of the cottage are stunning. Our friendly host Sharon welcomed us and was very helpful throughout our stay. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. We would look forward to staying in Bunagee cottage in the future.

It’s a real delight!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bunagee Cottage. Sharon was an attentive host and had the house immaculate for our arrival. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of storage. We especially loved the back garden with it’s seating area and beautiful views of the estuary. Culdaff village is just a stroll away and the picturesque Culdaff beach a short drive with a lovely coffee hut, park and sauna on site. We would highly recommend Bunagee Cottage if you’re visiting Donegal…. it’s a real delight.

Enjoy the quality of life on the Inishowen Peninsula

Bunagee Cottage is a lovely holiday home located in Culdaff. The cottage is attractively furnished and well-supplied for renters’ convenience. The large kitchen is great for families as is the nice back patio with views of the Culdaff River and sheep pastures. It’s a short walk to a beautiful Blue Flag beach or into town where there is a nice little grocery store for shopping. The owners of Bunagee are wonderful and so easy to work with – even all the way from the US! If looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the quality of life on the Inishowen Peninsula, this cottage is for you. – June 2025

Perfect family summer break in Donegal

Great stay in the Bunagee Cottage for the first week of August. House is in prime location in Culdaff, 5 min walk to shop and pubs on the main street, 5 min drive to either the pier or to the beach, would highly recommend a visit to the beach as there is sauna’s available to warm up in after swimming. The house is in great condition, 4 huge double bed bedrooms and 1 bedroom with bunkbeds, huge kitchen with big family dinning table, living room also great size with flat screen tv, garden with BBQ and seating area and great view, Wi-Fi in the house is super fast also,
Can’t fault the house, easy booking, easy access no hassle at all.

The house was wonderful

Thank you so very much for the welcome pack. We had a fantastic time. The house was wonderful. It was brilliantly appointed and there really wasn’t anything that we would have wanted that wasn’t there. It was warm, clean and welcoming. The instruction booklet was most helpful. The kids had an absolute blast despite the sea being so cold and we will definitely look again for availability when returning to Culdaff.
Thank you for hosting us.
