The holiday home has been carefully designed to make maximum use of natural sunlight – and to enable the visitor to enjoy the stunning vista outside. All 4 bedrooms together with the dining area and the living room enjoy breathtaking sea views.
The holiday home is situated in very peaceful location and has direct access down to the Doaghbeg beach. The spectacular Great Arch at Doaghbeg is a short walk north. Indeed there are numerous caves and natural arches along the coastline in the vicinity of the holiday home – including the dramatic “ Seven Arches”. There is even your own ‘private’ cave on the beach in front of the house.
This is a really beautiful house & location
This is a really beautiful house & location. The beach at the end of the garden is lovely and a great spot for kids to explore and any of the beaches we visited locally were breath taking. The drive from Rathmullen to Portsalon is also spectacular if you get to do it. We will definitely return.
We all find this little corner of Ireland magic
Thanks again for an incredible week in Donegal. This is our second time at An teach Illanmore and we just fall more and more in love with the place. We are four siblings who live in different parts of the world but we all find this little corner of Ireland magic, as do our partners and kids. Please don’t ever mow the meadow, we love the walk to the beach. It’s hard to leave but we’ll be back.
The house has been a haven of peace and comfort
Writing on the last night of a fantastic stay in this georgeous corner of the world. The house has been a haven of peace and comfort for us at a busy and daunting time, and we’re already looking to coming back asap. We’ll miss the beach at the end of the garden and all the other charms here on offer, but will take some great memories home along with a lot of photos.
The views are so good you may never want to leave
Truly one of the most amazing and unique setting of any Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. The private access to the natural setting is phenomenal, and the house is wonderful as well! The views are so good you may never want to leave, but make sure you do. Take the trail down to the beach and explore the cave and you’ll be rewarded with a memory you’ll cherish forever. Our family certainly will. Don’t hesitate, book it.

The house is in the MOST beautiful location and is an incredible spot for a family or group to enjoy the beauty of Port Salon and the wilds of Donegal from. Pamela was super helpful and responsive, the house was clear and had everything we needed. We can’t wait to get back again, just heavenly.
Breathtaking views over the lough
A great time by all was had at An Teach Illanmore. We had a fantastic week and got up to a number of fun activities including surfing, golf and even a bonfire on the beach. The house itself was lovely with breathtaking views over the lough.
Stunning from start to finish
An amazing stay in a beautiful house in a stunning location. Stunning from start to finish. Despite inclement weather, still the best stay we have had in Ireland. Highly recommended place to stay with or without family. Its simply outstanding.
We’ve had a wonderful holiday here
We’ve had a wonderful holiday here. There have been lots of things for all seven of us – aged from thirteen to eighty-two – to enjoy, but the best have been the sights and sounds nearby , such as the walk by road to Pollaid Great Arch and back home by the beach. We ventured further afield to the Ulster American Folk Park near Omagh and it is absolutely fantastic- well worth the journey.
We would retire here in the morning
We really loved it here and if we could we would retire here in the morning. We are so sorry to be leaving this lovely house which is only outshadowed by by the beauty all around it – in the sea, the beaches, the mountains and the wildlife. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we are back again.
The house has everything you could ever need

The house is perfectly situated for exploring the Fanad peninsula with the lighthouse and superb beaches on your doorstep. The beach with sea cave beyond the garden is amazing and our kids loved it. “Stunning” was the word we’d read in all the reviews
“Stunning” was the word we’d read in all the reviews. Now, we understand. Words don’t really describe the place….the house the grounds, and especially the beach. Just beautiful. Communication either the host was just right, too. You won’t go wrong. Book with confidence.
Beautiful place with truly incredible views!
Beautiful place with truly incredible views! Plenty of room for quite a few guests – we were travelling with family + in-laws and weren’t cramped. Good location to explore Donegal.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We have come here many times before. The house is amazing, we enjoyed going body boarding in the sea, having BBQs. We had a wonderful time here and we will be sad to be leaving today.

I enjoyed going through the cave on the beach
I loved staying here! I enjoyed going through the cave on the beach and body boarding at Drumnacraig beach. We went to Ballyhiernan but were sad to see the biggest sand dune had collapsed. We found lots of sand shells on the beach and did a competition for who has the best one. We went on the ferry to Buncarna and drove all the way to Malin Head. We had a brilliant time.
We had such a fun time at An teach Illanmore
We had such a fun time at An teach Illanmore. We went on walks every day on different beaches and on Halloween (my birthday) we went into Derry and dressed up (I went as a dinosaur). We went out for lunch and dinner almost every day and on our last day we had a bonfire on the beach.I really don’t want to leave because we haven’t explored everything yet. PS we also collected shells.
I loved going crab fishing and picking blackberries
In Donegal we had a great time. I loved going crab fishing and picking blackberries. Every day we went to the beach, actually we went about twice a day. And the beach is only over the fence in our back garden!
