Portsalon Beach is generally regarded as one of the finest beaches in Ireland. It stretches all the way from the harbour to the foot of Knockalla Mountain. It is popular with swimmers, kayakers, wind surfers and is perfect for walking. Surfing takes place at the Knockalla end. At the harbour end there is a sheltered sandy cove overlooked by the renowned Sarah’s bar and restaurant. Also at the harbour is a water sports centre with everything from buckets and spades to kayak hire.
